nerds only

i was in such an intense mood last night that i cleared out and destroyed an entire plane of Oblivion, a quest that can take an hour or so, in about ten minutes.

also, Pirates of the Caribbean was awful, but made fun with a bottle of rum

Mobile Suit Tim: The NYC Adventure

Oh-Em-Gee Shambot. It’s been a long last week without you. I’m only now just beginning to catchup with all the shennanagins and goings-on I missed out on. It seems we’ve been quite the little setters of jets, and let me tell you, I HATE MODERN AVIATION. At least for now. Perhaps I’ll tell you more of the actual NYC bits later, but for now, settle for some stories of “FUN WITH NORTHWEST AIRLINES!” (more…)

Super quick post!

Update:
I am alive. Just (as usual) shirking my blogging duties. Here’s why (in a nutshell):
-Harper’s = almost over.
-Nannying = also almost over, and my boss extra-booked me this week. As a result, it is 7.22 am and I must run out the door to an 8.30 job. Blargh.
-The Ben was in town. Now he is in Israel, and I am writing him very long (and probably boring) emails because I miss hearing the sweet, lilting sound of his voice on le phone.
-New York = almost over. Sadness. And I must properly re-experience everything I love here before leaving so it’s fresh in my head like a bad aftertaste.
Must go sit on the babies. Real post later. Love and kisses and other silly things.

The final panel from a mini-comic. Originally I catch Ben. However, he is much stronger than I am, therefore this makes much more sense.

UGH! A terrible round thing!

Oh man. Thanks to one of my favorite co-workers (they’re all my favorite, really), I now have in my hot little hands the first season of FRAGGLE ROCK.

down on fraggle rock!

Seriously, guys. Laugh your cares away, worries for another day, etc. etc. Fraggle Rock is JUST as amazing as I remembered it, which is more than I can say for some other stuff from my childhood. There is some really funny stuff going on, and geez-o pete if there isn’t 500 gazillion muppets EVERYWHERE all of them movin’ around and stuff. I’m looking forward to watching the special features. Also, the music is REAL GOOD. I’ve decided that I want to start a Fraggle Rock cover band, and we will sing all the Fraggle Rock songs in a kind of Rilo Kiley-esque style. This one especially. Love ittt.

Summer’s going pretty well so far. I’m working a lot, although this week not so much, since Alli and I thought we would be in New York. Sigh.

p.s. while trying to find a video of rock-a-doodle, I found this little gem. Don Bluth, you are a cheezball, but dizzAMN, your animation is amazing.

save me

for those of you who don’t know [me], I am currently in Louisiana for some reason. this means that internet usage is extremely restricted. I guess i wanted this to a point, but i totally feel lonely and shambotless. right now i have to use my brother’s computer which is a PC so it doesnt feel right. what i do like is that hes using this bastard as a monitor.  omg its right in front of my face.

speaking of in front of my face, most of my time these past couple of days has been sucked away by The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.  i cant stop playing this game and theres no end in sight.  pray for me people.  i have been seeing some old friends but not as much as i like as most of them are pretty damn busy, still in school elsewhere, or vacationing.  f guys, im tired of being lonely.

Summer Plans

First off: Please everyone listen to this episode of this American life on Guantanamo Bay prison. Habeas Schmabeas 2007 Granted it’s a little old, it came out last year. But I hadn’t heard it yet and if you already listened to it there are new updates. Plus it is pretty relevant considering the discussion involving Gitmo earlier this Tuesday. Listening to it made me ashamed and proud to be an American. It won a peabody, and it is seriously the best investigation into the prison I have heard/read. Amazing stuff. It seriously spawned a 2 hour conversation between deedee and I about how we could try to change the world.

I leave for Penn State in about a week. I am a little nervous. Anyways I gots lots of reading planned to do this summer, it’s heavy on Japanese Lit, but I just took a class in the subject and I read pretty much none of the authors I wanted to in that class (except Endo). So I’m doing it on my own. Everyone else can put up their summer reading lists to share! BOOP BOOP SUMMER READING CLUB! If you finish them I will buy you a personal pan pizza at Pizza Hut. So everybody BOOK IT!
TO READ SUMMER 2K7:
Silence Shusaku Endo
Wind-up Bird Chronicle, Haruki Murakami
Spring Snow Yukio Mishima. He killed himself after he finished the last page of this series. I am 1/2 through and I really dig the style.
Kokoro Natsume Soseki
Nip the Buds, Shoot the Kids, Kenzburo Oe
Y the Last Man Vol. 9 Bryan K. Vaughan
The Scientist as Rebel Freeman Dyson
Finally, I know it’s a little lame but… Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows J.K. Rowling

Are you alive?

Katie.Wilson.
Are you alive?

It has been almost a month.  And I have concern.

:)

Connected

So to make up for the silly post yesterday, here’s an illustration:
I think We're All Connected
I don’t really have much to say about it. I was listening to Architecture in Helsinki and Clap Your Hands when I made it. Could they have affected my brain at a subconscious level? Maybe.

PS- I love graph paper and triplus markers. They are a match made in heaven.

Zombies

I haven’t posted in a while. Maybe it’s because everyone else on Shambot is all “SCHOOL IS OUT OMGZ BBQ TIME L0Lz!!1!!” Whereas I am still stuck in the middle of finals week with tons of stuff to do. I have two tests tomorrow, Thermodynamics and Computer Science, and they are both comprehensive and will be hard. Then on Thursday I am giving a presentation on Zombies! I am super psyched for this presentation, but everyone else in my group has done no work! Hit more for a preview of the presentation!
