An unfortunate juxtaposition to be sure…

I am cool.

Did you see the new Vita.mn, on the rack until next Wednesday? OH WEIRD.

I am super disappointed that my fashion prediction of cut off t-shirts and fanny packs was edited out of my interview, but you gotta take the good with the bad, I guess. THAT’S FASHION.

I am 6

PBJ!
I am totally a 6-year-old and enjoying it.  When I got home this afternoon, I had a PB&J sandwich with a big glass of chocolate milk.  Now, back to reality, I am going to act my age and get 2 for 1 Margs!

Are you serious?

photo-police-warning.jpg

Isnt that the point of photography to both the artist AND to the average point-and-shooter?

P.S. I found this police warning on Not If But When, the photographer Brian Ulrich’ blog. If you dont read already, then you should definitely check it out. He really knows photography, and makes frequent posts about not only what he is doing, but what other contemporary photographers are doing, and where they’re showing. I know I’m a total photo-nerd but I think it’s a must-read. (I took an online class from him once actually… it was hard.)

Things that pertain to my interests.

In the vast entity that is the internet, sometimes one comes across “cool stuff”. After stumbling upon a cool custom-action figure blog, I found this site. Now when I was a kid, I just used the power of my imagination to make my War Machine figure and Iron Man figure. I’m pretty ashamed of my childhood imaginative self after seeing this stuff. Be sure to check out the Victorian Avengers and the Gaslight Justice League. Oh, Venture Bros too. And Daredevil. A NERDS DREAM!

Also, custom taxidermy must make for a cool, if grim art project.  It would appear that the Borg have added this poor lil’ deer’s biological and technological distinctiveness to their own.  Make of that what you will.

We are the BORG.

Further, Mpls folk, what’s your spring break looking like out of curiosity? DO YOU GET ONE? WE DO.

UH OH

I’m not sure what to make of this yet…

com

The rest are at http://rss.warnerbros.com/watchmen/

Sorry, I can’t figure out how to make that a link.

I guess they look ok… maybe a little schumacher-esque… The only one that I flat out do not like is Ozymandias. Also, where’s Doc Manhattan?

While I am fairly confident this will be the worst bastardization of Alan Moore ever, Dave Gibbons is reportedly really excited about the project, and thinks it’s going to be done really well. Also, when you think about it, 300 was one of the most faithful adaptations of any comic other than sin city, and Snyder is going to use the Graphic novel as a storyboard, just like has been done with those two movies. AND, black freighter is going to be included as a DVD feature. However, Frank Miller is much easier to adapt to film than Alan Moore ever will be.

And there is still the fact that Snyder is taking one of the greatest, most complex and intensely pessimistic novels ever and trying to make it into a summer blockbuster in the same vein as 300. I mean, honestly, 300 and watchmen are about as far from each other as super-hero comics get. We’ll see.

Thoughts?

GGAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! WERE FASHIONABLE!

(For those of you shambies out there who dont have any idea whats going on, I will say that there is this big thing right now about street fashion. There are a list of street fashion blogs, one for seemingly EVERY metropolitan area in the world, dedicated to capturing the best of the local street fashion (Even our own Alec Soth made a post a while ago partly about his obsession for them). This particular one is called the Minneapoline. There is also a competition annually, I guess, where the blogs COMPETE using their very best, most fashionable posts against the other blogs’.)

Its Official.

There is SOMETHING living in the walls of 730 Jefferson, home of most of the Iowan Contingency of the Shambot! Grand Council.

Remember when I used to post things that were nerdy and were interactive? I forgot to tell anyone that I made a little blog for myself! It’s not that I’m not posting on Shambot anymore, I just wanted a place to post art-related code stuffs that I could show to potential employers. I still plan on making more videos and want to specifically add to my growing “where am I” videos (I just haven’t been anywhere surprising lately).
