I gots me a mark!

So, any mcadets who have gone through GD1 know all about the mark-making assignment. Its QUOTE Oh-So-FUN ENDQUOTE.

Regardless, it has been possibly the apex of my graduation-cum-meltdown (I’m really into combining words at the moment). BUT I’m feeling pretty solid on it right now. Been plugging away for hours (by skipping work), and have created this:

Enroot Logo Enroot Business Card

Still working on the lovely process book, but it’s coming together, and I’m no longer feeling overwhelmed. Thank God.

SO freaking Proud!

so, I have been sitting at BWs all night (Bad Waitress), working on my website.  And, from pure exhaustion, I am stopping for the night, but with a real achievement under belt:

www.angiedoerr.com (or) www.angiedoerr.net (goes to the same thing)
It’s not quite allll finished (you’ll notice a title “result:” with no actual results) but, you can get the jist.  Now, the excitement is 3 fold.

1.  I programed that sucker.  And that code is HOT.  (All except that fancy movement stuff, that was artfully borrowed.)  but those divs? They’re SOLID.

2.  You can actually start to understand WHAT I DO.  It’s a very exciting concept.  I do things.  We know that.  Now you can understand.

3.  You can give me feedback and suggestions.  I’m going to post the final for class on Sunday, so, you have till then if you want to make an impact.

SO …. FREAKING ….. EXCITED ….

Enjoy!

(money = food)

So, as I am sure you are all feeling the pinch of, the semester is almost over.  Allison can appreciate with me how awesome the end of this semester is going to be for us both.  NO MORE SCHOOL.  AHHH.  Unfortunately, I have hit that stage in all stressful experiences, where I just don’t want to do it anymore.  I am pretty sure that I could stop going to all of my classes and still sneak by with terrible grades, and still pass.  (except for the possibility that they give me an incomplete, that wouldn’t be good).  I just feel like I have better things to do with my time

Bigger fish to fry.  Bigger bucks to make!  (money = food)

So that’s it.  I’m sucking it up.  I have 4 more weeks.  A total of 12 class sessions.   1 is today, making tomorrow’s total 11.  Can you tell I’ve thought about this??

Oh, and in a final note.  The advantage of graduation is PARTYS!  For which I will be having one.  On Saturday the 15th, in the mid-morning.  I will provide more details, but ya’ll are invited, so don’t leave town until the 16th please.

UFO = Angie

So, I am really excited to tell you guys this!! It’s kind of my only “successful” art post, ever and to come. My poster is going to be in the UFO show!!!! I was one of the 6 from my class!!! That’s just CRAZY! As I’m sure you guys know, I have been really struggling with my studio classes, since, well, I’m not very good. But this is re-assuring! I don’t really think this is all that amazing, but it fulfilled the requirements better than some of the other ones, which I think played a big part in selection. And, just so everyone knows, I get to thank katie for her brilliant assistance.

Know what this is?

Birthday!

This is the smiling face of a birthday girl… Maybe even a 21 year old.  What an awesome day.

LOVE!

sWEET!

So, last time I posted (eons ago) I told ya’ll about 20×200.com.  Cool right?  Well, I go there today, and who has work for sale?  None other than our (mcad’s) very own Karolina Karlic – F: Yes!  Do you guys know her? so neat.  anyway…

In other news, my Grandma is in town! Very fun/exciting!  Needless to say, I spent way too long at the airport last night… boo.

I decided to take a morning of down time, which is nice, and rare (although, I am just now remembering that I needed to get my new driver’s license this morning…opps).  I just got disk 1 of Heroes s1, so I will watch a little o’ that today too.

All you artists…

Hey ya’ll.  I just heard about this awesome (not really even going yet) art dealer/website.  www.20×200.com

Not only do I think there will be some really neat stuff to come on here, but I bet you guys could send over some samples, and get this woman interested.  I suspect there aren’t a whole lot of people contacting her yet, since it has only been up for like 3 weeks.

I do art!

Mostly, we all know I’m pretending, but occasionally, I have to take art classes.  So, in the spirit of sharing, here is my first assignment for Graphic Design 1.  Yay!  I am rather proud.  The assignment was to make a postcard describing yourself for the teacher.  We had to use “hello, my name is…”

enjoy… !

(almost) a story for the grandchildren

So, I have a conclusion to the UPS guy situation. I thought I would share it with you all for posterity.

For those who haven’t heard the whole story, it goes as such:
The UPS guy who usually delivers to my apartment is very cute, and we have chatted a couple of times. I just happened to mention that to my friend in Oregon. So, unknown to me, this friend decides to put a little note on the outside of the latest package that she was sending me. This is what it was:

So, my friend calls me on Friday to let me know that my package should be delivered that day, but I was running around for freshman move-in day, and missed him. This is the note that he left:

Um, FUNNY! You have to understand, as much as I am reasonably embarrassed about this situation, I am 5 times more amused. So, come Monday, I am eagerly anticipating my afternoon (my guy always delivers in the afternoon) package delivery. BUT, bright and early, my buzzer rings, and AWKWARDLY, some OTHER UPS guy delivers my box. And looks at me very strange. And walks away.

So, my potential date with a real live hu-man has been reduced to a box of chocolate and books. Really good chocolate and books. Disappointed? Yes. Anticipating the next delivery to my apartment? YES!
