There will be hand animated cutscenes, and a soundtrack by Joe Hisaishi, who composed almost all the soundtracks for Miyazaki’s films. They haven’t announced a US release, but they have to … right? Where is John Lassiter!?

FAMOUS http://www.shambot.com/emma/2011-01-24/famous/ http://www.shambot.com/emma/2011-01-24/famous/#comments Tue, 25 Jan 2011 04:58:34 +0000 http://www.shambot.com/?p=3154 Last summer while I still had a part time job (and thus was on the road at 3:00 in the afternoon when this was taken) I saw the Google street-view-mobile driving through the neighborhood and tried to follow it before I got bored and gave up. You can follow my adventures if you start here and keep going up Victoria towards Grand Ave.

But if that’s boring, I’ve chronicled my adventures in three illustrated chapters (1. Oblivious, 2. Realization, 3. Giving Up), attached for your viewing pleasure.

p.s. And yes, I did in fact post this on facebook, but Ben posted that extra adorable lunch video on facebook too, so I think I have the right… even though this is not half as cute.

What? Its been two months since everyone went into hibernation mode? No one has posted since before the winter season began you say? Bored? Need some inspiration you say? Well, I’ve got just the thing for you:

Watch closely, as we look back at how Chance’s Halloween costume evolves and changes to match his environment (or moods?):

Initial word vegan correctly representing evil ex-boyfriend #3? check.
Rearranging the word vegan into other words? check.
Rearranging the word vegan into not other words, but possible acronyms instead? check.
Careless evolution into illegible symbols or characters? check.
Drunken reappropriation of tape into random shapes and genitals? check.
Inevitable hammer and sickle? of fuckin’ course!

more halloween party pics here.

I Got Props http://www.shambot.com/joel/2010-10-01/i-got-props/ http://www.shambot.com/joel/2010-10-01/i-got-props/#comments Sat, 02 Oct 2010 03:07:29 +0000 http://www.shambot.com/joel/2010-10-01/i-got-props/ I love Picross, PicCross, Nonogram or Paint by Numbers, whatever you want to call it. I bought PixelCross on my phone maybe a month ago and really liked it but wished it had a mode without a timer for a “more relaxed” play. I left a review saying so and the dev totally added it! Not only that but it was at my suggestion and he specifically noted that!

I’m totally famous now.

(I don’t know why the picture is all squished, I did this from my phone)

The Future is Amazing http://www.shambot.com/joel/2010-07-26/the-future-is-amazing/ http://www.shambot.com/joel/2010-07-26/the-future-is-amazing/#comments Mon, 26 Jul 2010 22:18:48 +0000 http://www.shambot.com/?p=2972 And we’re living it right now.

Here’s why:

My Grandma on my Dad’s side is not the most computer savvy person around. Actually, neither is Grandma on Mom’s side, but that’s not the point. Grandma lives in and owns a duplex. The people downstairs moved out and now she needs to put an ad out. She called me and asked me to put something together for her that looked nice and would stand out from the other For Rent signs at the college where she was going to post it.

Of course I said “yes”.

Using iChat I initiated Screen Sharing so she could see my screen while I put it together. Then when everything was looking perfect I emailed her the PDF. THEN I initiated Screen Sharing so I could see/control her computer to help her print it. After she had printed it we had a nice video chat to catch up and so she could show me the final product.

All of this has been possible through to do for awhile with various technologies but iChat pulls them all together and makes it so easy that even Grandma can do it.

Lisa Frank’d http://www.shambot.com/joel/2010-07-10/lisa-frankd/ http://www.shambot.com/joel/2010-07-10/lisa-frankd/#comments Sat, 10 Jul 2010 15:43:13 +0000 http://www.shambot.com/?p=2943 I found this cool desktop and spiffy icons and combined them to make the ultimate Lisa Frank Inspired Theme!!!

In Shambot news, I changed the auto-resize width for the medium and large sized images. Large now perfectly fits the width (580px) of this theme without breaking it and medium (290px) is half the width of large.

I even partake in the oh-so-nerdy process of take picture -> rotate 30 degrees -> take picture -> rotate 30 degrees -> etc. Well, today all the awkwardness pays off because I’ve finally found a software which turns my pieces of panoramas into panoramas. I went through the last 5 years of panorama-shots this morning and picked out and stitched together the good ones. It’s all extremely automatic, which is awesome. The software is Microsoft Image Composite Editor by Microsoft Research. Free, but Windows Only!

These are posters from the 1968 General Strike in France. I think they are the bee’s knees.

Oh well, Chane and Ben (and Emma) can revel in these pictures because they look like rock stars!!!

ps. I have been shooting a lot of film lately. Hopefully I will keep up with adding them to flickr.

This comic is from Lefthandedtoons.com which is hilarious and in the same vein as Toothpaste For Dinner or Natalie Dee. (funny, poorly drawn cartoons)

Also, if anyone isn’t familiar with Bill’s consistant Friday Facebook posts you should really check it out.
