So, here I am, at work, reading Shambot, when I noticed that I have been conspicuously (or maybe not so much) absent from le posting. Well, here I am. Hurrah.
Here is my update, summarizing my 2-plus months of MIA in the blogging community:
-working at Lunalux next semester, where I will get my letterpress on. Cross fingers for fun.
-Still courting the sweet mistress Coffee, who has yet to do me wrong. Except for those nasty caffeine depravation headaches. Turns out Coffee has this partner in crime, Ibuprofen. Together they are unstoppable.
-Making lots of the arts. School has a way of coaxing that out of me. Check out all the lovely things emerging from my magical pencil here.
-Also, did I mention I wrote all the HTML, java and CSS for that there website? Thanks to the Anginator for her neverending patience and support.
-While we’re on the website topic, all you Shambotsters should take a gander at those “Clips and Phrases” pieces on the site (there’s a separate page that the thumbnail will take you to). I’ve got about 18 of those bad boys left from the art sale and you all have one coming your way for a Gradubirthmakus present if you so desire. I haven’t figured out which ones are gone yet, but I’m also keeping a few. However, I can make you another/get you a print if you’re feeling really strongly about the matter. Comment for dibs.
-I’ve got 95 pages of novelly goodness under my belt, and it’s all going to be revised by the end of next week. Over break, I’ve been instructed to get feedback from people who aren’t Margie McGee. I’m finishing it up next semester as part of my senior project, so it’s still very much in progress, but if you’re willing, please do make me aware of that fact.
I think that’s all. Words fail me. They’ve all been sucked into that unwieldy of a half-novel.
It’s a VERY weird question, I know. But I’m serious. The Bijou in Iowa City is going to show “Italian Stallion” AKA “Party at Stud and Kitties” the erotic film that was Sylvester Stallone’s “breakthrough” role in the mid-sixties. Many of us had a great deal of fun with “Beach Babes 2: Prehistoric Paradise”, and I’m sure that this will be just as fun, and JUST AS AWKWARD. Apparently, he’s not quite the “stallion” legend has made him out to be, but in any case, it’s showing the 7 and 8th at midnight. For 5 dollars, I can see a famous man’s dong! Hooray!
Or if you must, you can watch it the privacy of home, you dirty perverts.
So, any mcadets who have gone through GD1 know all about the mark-making assignment. Its QUOTE Oh-So-FUN ENDQUOTE.
Regardless, it has been possibly the apex of my graduation-cum-meltdown (I’m really into combining words at the moment). BUT I’m feeling pretty solid on it right now. Been plugging away for hours (by skipping work), and have created this:
Still working on the lovely process book, but it’s coming together, and I’m no longer feeling overwhelmed. Thank God.

Okay, this has been bugging me for a while and, since the media has a major outrage erection about it right now, I thought it would be a good blog post thing. So el presidente, Hugo Chavez, is trying to get some reforms to the Venezuelan constitution passed that, according to every news show I watched this morning, will make him “dictator for life”. However, this is just another instance of the media misleading the public. The specific reform they’re talking about is Chavez’s move to remove the presidential term limit. I should mention that, from an ideological perspective, I think this is a bad move on Hugo’s part, but saying that it makes him dictator for life is lying by omission.
UPDATE: The purposed amendments have been defeated by a 2 point margin of the Venezuelan peeps. So, Hugo’s having a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day.
