In Upper Michigan we were all required to take a gun safety course and then an optional hunter’s safety course (that my parents made me take anyway because then I could go target practicing). I know I’m just a girl, but I think most of us had the mindset from then on that you just learned to handle and shoot guns and no-problemo. Like a CPR course,… or, err, maybe the opposite of one – you won’t need to shoot anything up right now, but… now you know, so it’s all good.

Anyone else have to go thru that training in school?

i hate guns. not because the kill people, but because all the cool ones hurt. If youve ever felt the recoil of a shotgun, you’d know what i mean, my shoulder was sore for like a week.

also, for some reason i started playing super smash brothers again. i had to start over from the begining because i think you have my memory card, but its been fun unlocking everything all over again. I already have most of the characters except for mewtwo and mr. game and watch.

I forgot to makes some things clear in my post:
1) I have never actually shot a real gun, I just know a lot about them.
2) Despite my state’s laws, I don’t think that consealed weapons should be legal.
3) Despite my countries laws, I don’t think that everyone should have the right to own a gun. Hell, some guns shouldn’t even be made!
4) I’m a hypocrite: I would really like to go to a firing range to try shooting a rifle or something. That sounds like fun.

Thought, when the zombie invasion comes, will America be ready?

I also like to ponder on the difference between virtual guns and real guns… Most video games have some pretty sweet weapon concepts that blow my mind (i.e. “living” guns in “Prey”). Virtual guns are facinating and fun. Real guns are somewhat frightening and intimidating.

Firing a real gun is another thing: in video games you shoot at people, aliens, monsters; in real life you hopefully do not encounter these things and thus, shoot at cans, barrels, clay pigeons. What if aliens really did invade?
