I KNOW I just made a post, but…
I thought I’d make an actual art-related post. Because thats what we do here, right??? SO. I am obsessed with this artist Rachel Whiteread. She’s a contemporary sculptor who uses resin to take molds of the interiors (negative space) of objects and places, like library bookstacks, the undersides of chairs, WATERTOWERS, and presents them as positive forms. I found this time-lapse video of an installation she did at the Tate Modern in 2006. And I thought Id share it with you, since its awesome.
You have to click on the still to get to the Tate website since I couldnt embed it. But you should look around a little bit at the photographs of the final installation of this work too, called “Embankment.” Also, go here to see the google image results (disregard the one with lego-people in it, I have no idea what that has to do with her…), and find the watertower. Its my favorite.

Oh man! I had missed this post so I’m late to the party :-/
Anyways, I love Rachel Witeread, too! I had looked at her installation/sculpture Embankment in a class a while ago (actually maybe last semester??).
