I don’t wanna bust anyone’s balls or anything, particularly people that I don’t know, but I am pretty sure neither of those films are actually technically noir.
Brick is a recent film that uses noir traditions, and Casablanca, while being from the same time period and starring Bogey, is more of a romantic story of political intrigue.
The only reason I mention this is because I am taking a detective fiction class right now, and I am really into noir as well. I apologize if I come off as a know-it-all, cuz in fact I am a know-very-little.

actually we just wanted to show these movies together and its the best way to describe them in a theme. I like to show new movies with classic movies, it usually makes for a pretty entertaining night.
