Since we’re on the topic…

….Of NYC, I will post too!

Because, lovingly, I am home from the Big Apple.  All in all, a very exciting trip, and seeing the Katie too!  (and Kara as well).  Few if any mishaps, I missed the single rat sighting (by Rhea), and the only bug in our hostel was in her bed.  Traversing the subway was a hoot!  The first day was a bit of an exercise.  Wandering the streets of Harlem with your suitcase after flying since 4am is not really something that I would suggest in the future, but we survived!

More……4 museums in 5 days, all for under $20, plus enough walking in said time to cause horrible pain and muscle cramping, with the impending possibility of death.  I ate all kinds of delicious, (the most important part of any good trip), including half a duck (yeah, that was pretty glorious, just ask Katie, who, I am sure was thoroughly disgusted).

Finally, as we packed our bags to leave, I started to feel the tell-tale twinge in my throat of impending illness, and true to expectation, the dirty-icky side of NYC got the better of me, and I have been sick since I got home on Wednesday.  eh.  but starting to feel better I suppose.

In other notes – among what seems like a pattern in MAC world, I too have come in miserable contact with the power-cord-who-no-longer-powers.  My pretty new MacBook Pro, with its magnetic little cord is slowly separating, and the actual powering doesn’t happen any more.  It only took me 5 months to break.  Impressive.  I realize that I can be considered a “heavy user”.  I am the type of person that companies want to test their new products on for durability, because if anyone could wear out a computer, it is me.  But only 5 months? REALLY?  That is not very impressive.  It took me at least 2 years to kill my last power cord (I have had to replace power cords on every laptop I have ever owned due to this type of problem).

Finally, in the glorious effort of making delicious breakfast, I did manage to burn my hand on melted plastic (the kind that sticks to you before you realize that it is burning your flesh, but you are too preoccupied with the initial reason to be touching said melted plastic to actually do anything about the burning on your skin).

So anyway, that is my excitement this week.  I intend to spend the rest of the day in bed reading, but tomorrow, oh man, do I have a crap-load of work to do in a effort to pretend that I do, indeed, attend school.
