i did this ‘rough sketch’ for digistration, based on a fable about two friends mauled by a bear. jk lol.  if you squint right down, you can see one of them in the tree.  He’s the survivor.

I would like to be the first to take Allison up on this challenge, as I was about to write about something very embarrassing already.

Ok. Last night, I was running upstairs very enthusiastically to join my lovely Emma for the watching of a few episodes of Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends (An Awesome show, if you say it’s for kids I will stab you in the jaw.) Anyway, in my haste, I stubbed my toe. You you see, we have a very low window in my very narrow stairway, it is almost parallel to the stairs in some places. So, while the rest of my body hurried upstairs, my right pinky toe stayed behind, caught in that space where the window makes a rectangular depression in the wall. However, when I say that I stubbed my toe, I do not mean that I merely squished it a little bit. I realized this when I got to my room and Emma pointed out that a small corner of my sock had turned entirely red. On closer inspection, I had a small gash in my toe and I HAD TOTALLY FUCKED MY TOENAIL UP. It now works like the that toenail in the commercial with the little dermatophyte. You know the one? Where he lifts it up like it’s got a little hinge and pops out from underneath it? Yeah, that’s what my toenail looks like right now. Walking about a mile to get to my class with that fucker squeezed into my shoe was not fun. I= cLUMzY A holE.

Anyway, to make this post less negative I am gonna end it like a xanga.

Currently reading- Dark Victory- A batman comic by Jeph Lobe and Tim Sale. Sequel to the Long Halloween. Very noir, very cool. I LOVE the art.

Currently watching- NOT grindhouse, because Tim, Pat and Deedee went while I was at work. A holes. We just saw the Host, though. That was amazing, and makes up for it.

Currently Listening- Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers and Bastards- Tom Waits. The best Tom Waits I have ever heard. 56 songs and each one is amazing. My favorite disc so far is disc 3: Bastards.

Okay, in light of Bills “lets all do do something related and put it up for all to see” show proposal, I have a challenge for each and everyone of you shambies. POST SOMETHING REALLY EMBARASSING ABOUT YOURSELF. It can be a picture, a story, or some really bad art you did awhile ago or something. I think the idea for doing this came about when I ran across this picture of me from high school:

ILL START: For those of you that DONT know, I was a competitive cheerleader, none of that sissy yelling at the crowd shit. Naw, we was hard-CORE! Throwing people in the AIR, thats what IM talkin about. ANYwho… thats me on the far left, looking dumb at nationals. CLASSIC Alli face… I thought it was pretty funny.

P.S. And dont think I wont call you all out on this! Ill totally post something embarrasing FOR you if you dont. THIS IS FUN I SWEAR.

Okay, Ben and I just got back from a quick date at the Bad Waitress, and I’m no longer depressed/being a crybaby. A nice, greasy bacon cheeseburger and corn chips really got my endorphines back in gear. I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing, I think I have a delicious food dependency.

ANYWAY. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! AN IMPORTANT ISSUE IS AT HAND!

The important reason why I’m writing another post tonight is this:
ATTENTION MCAD FRIENDS (and a slight possibility Iowa artists)!!!
The student curated exhibition proposal forms are due THIS Friday. Since I really want to organize an event, I’m going to… do… it. IMPORTANT: The proposal is due this Friday, and they (the gallery directors) mean business. They want a description of the event, the artists participating AND a detailed description of the work going into the show. Lastly, they want the pieces drawn out in the exhibition space (gallery 148). It’s going to be a crazy few days. I want everyone to participate (sorry Iowa artists, I’m not sure if you can be in the show. I can ask the directors and if they say it’s okay then I want you guys to think of something too), so please please please think of something you want to make! There’s a good chance that the show could happen at any time next year, so we might have a while to work things out, or possibly only a few weeks.

THE THEME: Personal, Outer Space
THE DESCRIPTION: The work, which can be any medium, will show/present how personal space can affect, or be affected by, outside forces. I want to keep the show a little abstract, so think far outside the box. Also, it doesn’t necessarily have to be outer-space, but if that’s what the artist wants to explain, then so be it!

I know for sure I want Allison to do a sweet photo project, a series of 4-6 maybe? I want Ben to do a super cool experimental film. I know Joel can do something totally awesome with his programming skillz, so I want him too. For us in the design department, it gets kind of hard because we have such an open playing field. Maybe someone could come up with a fictional machine that would change the world? I really want to have some kind of sculptural object, so I might work on something like that.

We don’t have much time! Email me ASAP with ideas, no matter what they are. I really want this to happen. Be as descriptive as possible with your ideas too, I don’t want to lose out because of some silly little flaw. What is the medium/material, size, and a brief concept description. Brainstorm!
