He’s a new man, so he deserves some new duds.

I am kind of in the planning stages of a new comic. It would be an update on the “Random Assortment of Super Heroes” comic that we did in high school. This character is based on Tim, for those of you who don’t know. I decided to give him a Daredevil vibe, because we are both big DD fans. Keep your eyes peeled for more character sketches.

Things are going pretty good for me right now. My job is quite fun, and my coworkers are sweeties. I think a lot of my female managers have taken me on as a little brother figure because I already have two nicknames “Samadeus” and “Samson” (one manager constantly yells Samson! whenever I am working.) The paycheck is quite nice as well, and will get even better because I am getting espresso trained soon which means a RAISE!!

However, I sometimes wonder if I am working too much, since I have now started to call my girlfriend after drinks that we serve. Such as “my little swiss berry latte” or “mah little half-caf vanilla nut.”

As for next semester I am thinking about taking a basic drawing class, and a class on graphic novels where we read a bunch of them, and then make one. Not very impressive to mcadets (who can have actual comic art majors), I am sure, but it’d be a huge change of pace for me. Furthermore, I might be completely finished with my english major after this next semester.

Holy crap, I just got hired at my ultimate minimum wage, short-term, part-time dream job; being a coffee Barista at Java House!

This is especially sweet for me, since I applied in August, and went in a ton of times to no avail. Then out of the blue, several months later, I got an email asking me if I was still interested in the position. Then I got an interview, and 10 minutes ago I got a call telling me I was hired. Sorry if I seem a bit hysterical and toolish, but I am still very excited. I’ve been kind of stressed about having no income recently, since I feel like a mooch 24-7.

Anyway, that’s all that I had to share. Thanks for listening.

I am honestly ashamed of how little I have posted on shambot. I always felt really bad when I pulled stuff like this on conclave, and consequentially tried to be a regular contributor. I will try to be better in the future.

HOLY CRAP, Halloween, the best holiday of the year, is coming up soon. I have two Halloween parties coming up soon, one the weekend before, and then my amazing Halloween Nerd’s Ball is coming up the weekend after. Tim and I are going as Cyclops and Wolverine from the X-men. At first I couldn’t decide wether to be plainclothes Logan, or Wolverine in an actual X-men suit, so I think I will be plainclothes to one party, and sport the black leather to the other. Also, I realize that that is a level of detail that no one who reads this site needed. Maybe later in the week I will post a picture of the claws that I made. Anyway, I am very psyched that many of you guys are coming down. If you wanna see the official detailed invitation then friend me on facebook, and I will invite you.

Best roommates forever is going well, the gf and I are in the editing room trying to finish it right now, but we got here late, so someone else is using the computer. Here’s hoping that it goes well. Sometime soon, we will hopefully post our new first episode, and the lost pilot that we made first, which was banned from UITV.

While certain friends of mine choose to spend their time jetsetting, socializing and playing video games, I have chosen to actually attend school. Right now I am tantalizingly close to the end of the first week of classes, all of which I think I will enjoy, even my most boring class(medieval lit, studying an author known as the “pearl poet”). Other than that I am taking a class that’s all about detective literature (basically we read a lot  the books that most film noirs were based on.) I am also taking intro to film criticism, in which I will watch a ton of good movies (only two of which I have seen before), Warriors Dreams which is about the perception of the Japanese warrior (yes i am a fucking nerd, let’s go watch sum hentai, LOL) and finally a class called Poetry writing in which my teacher declared on the first day “I don’t like most things I read.” So that’s gonna be fun

Hey. I joined the sham, then wrote a long angry comment directed at Joel expressing how mad I was that I couldn’t post. Then he made it so I could. Then I didn’t post. For like a week. Sorry Joel. Oh well. I am posting now.

I go to the U of I, along with Tim and Maggie, and I went to high school with the whole Cedar Rapids crew. Additionally, I went to middle school with Ben and Pat, and I realized recently that I have known them for something like 8 years. I am so goddawfully old.

I’m studying english lit amongst other stuff, and hope to start studying education soon too.
