good news/bad news

Hey dudes.

Soooo… I think brand new Fits that belong to Shambot writers must be cursed. Cuz mine just got OWNED by some ugly old car. That’s right. Before I even got a chance to UPLOAD A PICTURE OF IT ON SHAMBOT my car was hit. We (Alli and myself) got slammed into whilst in transit to the Mall of America. Oh sadness, how many times had we tried desperately to get our patooties to this mecca of shopping? Oh so many times, and none came to fruition until yesterday, and not four blocks away from my apartment were we stopped in our tracks by someone who did not notice that they had a red light. Thankfully, we’re all unharmed (save for some mean aches this morning).

That was, of course, the bad news. The good news is that I tots reopened my etsy shop! There’s a picture of one of the prints available up there at the top of the post. I decided I was ready to delve into that business again, especially because Katie’s shop is SO FRICKIN CUTE. Visit them both. Think fondly of my Fit. over and out.

Also, I’ll be posting real artwork soon -inlcuding my VERY FIRST PUBLISHED EDITORIAL ILLUSTRATION. (already seen by some). ALSO, if you didn’t notice, I’ve started flickring again. I kind of want to get into the whole “wardrobe remix” deal – it’s so many cute girls with cute clothings.. I want them to see me! I want to be one of them!!

I’m listening to N.E.R.D.’s “Sooner or Later” on repeat. I couldn’tve named a N.E.R.D. song to save my life, but I’ve been obsessed with this song ever since I heard it at my old place of work – and then Jake Nolette played it at SES and I ran up to him like a madwoman and demanded to know who the band was. So this one goes out to you, Mister Nolette. Rock on.

new new new!

Life is pretty good over here on first avenue. I’ve got a new apartment, a new phone, and NEW GLASSES.

2 (two) things

1.

Robert Rauschenberg died last night. It’s always sad to see an artist you read about in any big survey art history book dying, but at least he had a pretty sweet life.

2.
I must have been looking hawt today or something, because the guy at Hark’s let me use my card on a less than $4 purchase, AND the guy at McDonald’s (yes I went there for dinner by myself, okay? SHUT UP) told me I looked too good to eat there. Nice. Plus a small fry and a double cheeseburger are $2.14…. SO CHEAP!! I obviously need to buy groceries, but I’m waiting till Katie and I move into our new LOVEDEN. ooh.

“If you don’t have trouble paying the rent, you have trouble doing something else; one needs just a certain amount of trouble. ”
-Rauschenberg

dark and stormy night

hey guys, I just made this today. I am still thinking about the white background. It’s probably not the best idea, but TEVS. The exciting thing is that this here is my last school assignment. Woop. It is an illustration of the Tri-State Tornado of 1925. It doesn’t really look like a tornado.
the tri-state tornado

Also, some of us got to go to a baseball game (I MISSED YOU ALLI, BUT YOU’RE SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO ME SO I DON’T MISS YOU ANYMORE). Bryan and I managed to accidentally sneak in, it was awesome. AND THEN there was a Neil Diamond sing along (thank goodness), and THEN a “fan photographer” (i.e. cute teenaged girl) took our pictures.., if you scroll down the gallery a bit you will be able to see our great pictures, including the one where I look like my head is expanding like a balloon. Sweet.

Naughty? Insanely cheap hooker? Overpriced piece of super ugly furniture? YOU DECIDE.

Stay tuned for my next post, which will most likely be me freaking out BIG TIME over my first real published piece that I got paid for. There will be scanz, there will be freak outz.

wow

I took some time out of my really busy schedule to edit this photo that someone else took and posted on the internats. It took a long time guys. I might not be able to graduate in time because of this.

who’s that who’s that from Emma Brown on Vimeo.

we kind of half-assed this guys. but we are girls. and we wanted to watch tv.

oh hey

I am a very excited Emma, because on Tuesday I will be the proud new owner of this bad boy:

[EDIT: i got it today at it’s not the key, it’s the lock version which is just as hott…]

You might be saying “what the crap is this thing?”, and if so, then let me tell you. It is a totally sweet keychain made by Harry Allen for Areaware, which is like fine artsy home stuff. All the objects he made are cast from things in his life or reproductions of things used in different ways, etc. It’s super cool, I’m way into some of the more expensive stuff as well (take-out cutlery cast in sterling silver for $105!!), and the thought of owning some made in that same line is kind of exciting. I’m a nerd, what can I say. Plus… he’s pretty cute.

OH, and here’s something for those of you who can’t have a Harry Allen totally sweet key LOCK keychain…
