emma brown trithart

THIS IS REALLY ODD AND STRANGE TO SEE. Especially since I have been using my middle name more and more often these days (i.e. facebook, emmatrithart.com‘s mainpage)… and now there is a rug named after me!!

Also, Genzebar’s on the interwebs….

(edit: this was started a couple days ago in the morning. I didn’t miss my bus.)

hey all you minneapolitans. Yesterday it was brought to one half of the Ladies Who Brunch that maybe some of yous guys want to know where to eat breakfast that’s new. Well, today I am officially starting the Ladies Who Brunch List of Lists.

I’m not going to do all of them, since I want to give the other girls a crack and also I don’t want to miss my bus. But here’s a few, from me to you:

Butter | 3544 Grand Avenue South in Minneapolis

I have a soft spot for this place in my heart because it was actually reccomended by Andrew Bird at a concert of his I went to. He ate here a lot when he was recording his last CD, which makes me weep that I could have seen him drinking coffee and eating some bacon and I missed out. Anyhow, Butter is super duper green (discount if you bring a travel mug, biodegradable silverwear, compost heap bin) and super duper cute. They’ve got a small but really tasty menu with things like buckwheat pancakes and seasoned potaters. This isn’t your greasy spoon-type place, so don’t come expecting bigger than your body portions full of fatty deiciousness. I love that kind of place, but I love butter too. They also have some of the tastiest looking cupcakes on the planet.

Keys Cafe | 767 Raymond Ave in St Paul

I think you guys have probably heard about our fantastic free cinnamon rolls for hot girls experience, but did you know that Keys Cafe has really good food as well?!?!?! Dude, huge plates of greasy delicious cheese and veggies. Breakfast was supposed to be like this. Plus the atmosphere is like you’re sitting in your diningroom with 30 people you don’t know but they’re all havin’ a good time, so why worry? The waiters are nice (i.e. free cinnamon rolls for hot girls) and the coffee’s real good.

Okay, I don’t wanna take all the good places. Girls, chip in! Let’s not dwell too long on the loss of Maxwells when there are so many other good resteraunt with HASH BROWNS to be had. But I am sad about Maxwell’s. seriously.

the moment you’ve ALL been waiting for

I know, I know. “When can I buy something that Emma made on the interwebs”, that’s all you’ve been thinking ever since you could have thoughts. Well, I’ve made your lifelong dream come true TODAY. For the lowlow price of whatever the website says, my royalty-free set of teapot and tea related doodads are now available for purchase.

I am actually very excited about this, but I’ve lessened my usual over-usage of the caps lock because I’m a professional person now, and professional peeps don’t abuse the caps lock. Or use the word peeps. damn. But seriously, guys, I am really loving my new job.

i made this today.

it’s kind of a practice run on senior project imagery. i’m still trying to get a “vernacular” down, and i think keys and locks will play a big part of my big sexy (well, not like overtly sexy) senior project. I’ve already got Foucault’s history of sex volume 1. WHAT NEXT?!?!?!

also, i got an e-mail today saying this guy became a fan of me on digg. It looks like he is collecting every Emma, Maria, and Sonia he can find on Digg. IS THIS CREEPY, OR JUST ODD?!?!?

ONE MORE THING. I just want to thank whoever wrote the summary for this fantastic sounding movie, “Shrooms”, on the quicktime website and never frickin’ proofread it. Seriously guys.

WALT!

Hey guys. Emma here, reporting from the basecamp of The Self-Pity Convention 2008. Republicans don’t got nothing on me. I’m having a rough time fitting together school and work, but whatevs. I’ll work it out. Also, I didn’t sleep last night AND TODAY I burned my fingers on steam. So I am treating myself by watching Lost and internetting it up hardcore. Rerewatching episodes of Lost is, like the last couple times I’ve seen them, a religious experience. You understand a lot more after you know what happens down the road. And oh, it is a glorious, Sayid filled road.

Anyhow, during my internetting I found the most AMAZING WEBSITE EVER!!! It’s called American Science & Surplus. It’s a store that seems to be based in Chicago, although there is an online component too. This place is like every little kid’s dream. It’s also like my dream – some of you may remember that earlier this year I was way into buying fake birds to decorate my room with and couldn’t find a good online vendor to do the trick or they were really expensive…. at this place they’re 24 for $3.25!! There’s also squeaking lizards, swinging balls, beakers, a pack of over 600 tiny bottles, AND MORE. I want it all!!

did you KNOW?

The month of January is National Soup Month AND National Hot Tea Month!! Soup and tea are two of my favorite things!!! I’m thinking we should all get together this weekend and make some soup and drink some tea. I made a really delicious chickpea soup (seen above at Long-Weekend Tea Party) on my birthday and now I’m hooked! I’ve gotta make more! I’m so obsessed that I almost bought a food processor with my extra birthday money, but chickened out at the last minute – I’m afraid with my last semester swiftly approaching, I won’t used the darned thing! I guess we’ll see.

In the meantime, who’s up for exploring this DELICIOUS SOUNDING carrot and parsnip soup? Soon? Yes?

Also, I got a REAL frickin’ job! It starts in February, so you will hear more about that then. Let’s just say, though, that I am mundo excited. Real life is starting, senioritis is kickin’ in for keeps.

brother from another mother?

I just saw There Will Be Blood (beeteedoubleyou, FANTAAAASTIC) tonight. We just got back from the theater, and instead of cleaning up all the boxes I’ve littered about the apartment, or cleaning, or doing artwork for crazy insane projects that are popping up, I HAVE TO DO THIS:

ALSO: this winter break has been taken over with my obsession with WALLY TESTS – which involves questions like this: how do you stop moles from digging in your garden?

answer: TAKE AWAY THEIR SHOVELS. hyuckhyuck.

where the treetops glisten

hey guys. emma here. i’m in ann arbor, raiding my parent’s fridge and watching cable television. This equates to making breakfast with my dad and watching copious law & order reruns.

100_1291.jpg

speaking of food, GUESS WHAT. Jenny Tondera and I are starting a FOODIE blog called Long Weekend Tea Party. It’s still kinda getting fixed up, but I posted something anyhow. It’s gonna be even better soon.

ALSO, if there is one thing i could do during christmas, i think it would be reading all the family newsletters my parents recieve. In the past they were just painfully mundane family info, which I love, BUT NOW the writers (usually the dad, for some reason?) are trying to get a little Jay Leno-y on us. I’m currently in search of this one I read last night that will probably make Chance mad. Stay tuned, Shamboland.

i had to do it
