dinosaurs walked the earth

ah yes. Saturday monrings and “Animal Atlas” go together like things that go together. It is one of the most patronizing shows ever. I’m hoping the children recogize the fact that they reuse clips for multiple shows. Hopefully. I honestly do love watching Saturday morning television. Always amusing. If I had cable it would be cartoon network tout les temps.

a lady

Here’s a painting I made for the art sale. Yaaay. I’m too lazy to remove the ugly border.

Evan is making breakfast, although unfortunately it only consists of hashbrowns, since our eggs are at the boys (YOU BETTER NOT EAT THEM) and the only bread we have left is the ends.. which I guess I will toast. DEPLESSING. I want to eat scrambled eggssss.

Now we are watching some sort of fancy food show on PBS. OH the life of me.

Hey, I’m still alive!

Yup, I know I haven’t written here for awhile, but I wanted to say that Japan goes well. I am getting a little homesick, basically missing one diana spradlin, but also a lot of other people back in the USA, including my friends and family. Anyways, I experienced another one of those gentle nudgings I talked about earlier, it occured last night with my host family. When we were discussing the going to a tea ceremony on Sunday.

“The tea ceremony is very formal.”

“Should I wear a suit coat?”

“No, but it is formal.”

“Should I wear a tie?”

“No, but it is very formal.”

“Okay! I’ll get my hair cut!”

So yes, I went to the barber today to get my hair cut. It was a very interesting experience because I usually have a hard time expressing how I want my hair to be cut in english, let alone in Japanese. They gave me a style book but all the styles were from the 80’s and pretty much looked like Japanese businessmen. So then I thought how I would roll if I was a Japanese businessman and picked a style, but I said “not as short as that one, but look the same.” I think she understood, and I am relatively pleased with the haircut. Not super happy, but I was feeling like I would hate it. Anyways, I am really excited for the tea ceremony tomorrow and I will probably write someting about it later.

Lightbox v2.0

This is just an example of Lightbox 2.0! It basicly takes your pictures and makes them look hot. If anyone wants to know how to use it let me know! It takes a little knowledge of HTML, but really it’s just setting it up right.

Shlomo himself.Haha Rummy.Is this awesome?

Pitettes

Bill and I just bought tiny bite-sized pitas called Pitettes. They are adorable and delicious. I want to make tiny pita sandwiches now! I’m about to watch The Conversation by Francis Ford Coppola because I need to write a paper (which I forgot about) about it for Monday. Oh man, whoops.

Oh, but I did get my film back from being processed, and I’m going to digitize it on Tuesday at 2:00pm.

Here are some more Wii card pictures:

BUT DUDE

I was considering writing something of worth, but really, why write something of worth when Pawlentypants won (sad) and I found this rockin way to fix wikipedia (good):

breathe.

I have so much homework, and yet I work on stuff like this instead. It’s for the art sale! I think this is turning into a series, “words of advice” maybe?

Did I mention that this is probably my favorite piece of art I’ve ever made? Well it is. I want everything that I make in the future to have a resemblance to this illustration.

Filming = fun

People are starting to hear about me as an assistant director, so, that’s what I did on Saturday. (And, Dolly Grip, I might add, yeah, I have mad skills).

So, this was pretty fun/crazy. We were in a apple orchard/forest in Minnetonka somewhere. I really don’t know where we were, on the way there, I was on the floor of a van and couldn’t see out, so I literally don’t know how we got there. On the shoot, we had sasquaches, radioactive suits, and secret service, oh, and a kid who was scared of all of the above.
But, it was fun, and as usual, I had a great time (I love me some film shoots).

My Halloween.

This is what I did on Halloween.

pkin

I hadn’t carved a pumpkin since 5th grade. It was fun and also a lot easier than I remember it being. My parents had bought some kind of delux pumpkin carving kit, which came with “complex” templates (which you taped to your pumpkin and used a little poker to poke holes and make a path) and high quality carving tools which were just little serrated blades glued to an orange handle. Those things were very difficult to handle as a child, and also broke if you carved too hard. Anyways, Happy Halloween!

Oh Halloween.

I did nothing this halloween.  Nothing.

I’m rather ashamed of this fact.  I’m also ashamed that for the last few weeks, my weekends and time where I was specifically NOT DOING CLASSWORK have been remarkably tame.  My 360 and I are friends.  Why I call it the 360 doesn’t make a lot of sense though.  It’s really the xbox2.  But you can’t call it that, ’cause xbox is a stupid name.  The zcube makes just as much sense.  So for some reason I call it the 360 (’cause I’m a tool that buys into marketing attempts, no doubt).

Anyway, following the gore-fest fun that DeadRising was I needed something satiate my needs for smarter action-satisfaction.  Where was I to look?  Why, I do recall a mr. Sam Fisher had called me but a month ago to catch up.  What was he doing these days?  To get straight to a point, Splinter Cell 4 is pretty much amazing.  Ben, Joel, Patrick, Sam, Lindsay, hell, anyone and everyone whose been arround me can attest to how much I was obsessed with the last one.  I even started climbing arround the apartment complex on pipes, and shimmying across balconies in the darkness trying to feel as badass as Sam Fisher.  Once, (if anyone wants, I can try to find a picture) I was so hyped up on caffeine and adrenaline I climbed up a pole to the bridge at my old apartment.  That’s like 30 feet of retarted climbing, for no particular reason.  See, my life used to be full of silly adventures, what now?

Sitting at home on ALL HALLOWS EVE drinking pumpkin ale?  Sadness consumes me.

However (!), this weekend is to be different! FAR FAR DIFFERENT!  I’m (hopefully) attending a very classy Wine and Cheese party that one of my Poli-Sci classmates is hosting, and on Saturday Night (which I assure you is not for romance, ’cause y’know, you had all week to get into girl’s pants) WE PARTY! BIG AMERICAN PARTY! EVERYONE DISCO DANCING! I WILL BE HAVING VERY GOOD TIME!

Yeah!  I’m excited too.  ‘Cause this year, I had too many costume ideas to just do one.  Be ready.  I’ll be changing every hour on the hour.  Sam too!  Hooray for costumes!

Butt in the front.

Yeah, okay, I know it’s been awhile since I last posted. No excuses here. I just video-chatted with my brother who is 3000 miles away and it was pretty awesome.

I want to play more videogames. I haven’t in a loooong time and I’m way overdue for some sit-on-the-couch action. The Wii is too far away and I’m probably going to end up buying the new Final Fantasy in the next couple of weeks. It’s lame, I know, but I’m a sucker for ‘em.

School ends in 5 weeks. That is ridiculous, but I am totally prepared. My movie is done (being shot) and it is being processed right now. Then to digitizing, then to the editing room, then to the sound editing room, then to a DVD. Simple as that.
Oh, here’s a picture I took of Joel’s Wii Gift Card that lights up. It is neat:
