hiatus?

Allright, so I realize it’s been about three months since I last posted on… October 1st, so let’s ease into this with a picture post:

This is honestly an alert I get every time I start up my computer. Seriously.

but... what?

This is almost kind of sad

This has been the background on my computer for quite some time now. Tiled, of course.

THOMPSON OUT

dos pos(t)

Sorry to double post, but I’m just now realizing that I’d better get my ass in gear on the production of my latest movie opus. To start, I’m posting the script here in hopes of getting some good feedback before I finalize anything. I got some good feedback from class, but not the best. That’s where you guys come in! The only thing I’m sure of changing is the second montage of Robot living homeless on the streets. Also, I’m thinking that Robot’s new place is actually across the hall from Dave, and they keep missing each other Science of Sleep style. Also, the beginning argument needs work. A lot of work. Right now, it’s really one sided, and I’d really like for it to be a lot more back and forth between Robot and Dave to justify Dave’s anger a little more. Tim? Sam? If you have time, that is, could you re-write it for me?
Anyway, here’s the actual script:

Let me know what you think!

The Chronicles of Genzebar

Here it is, in all it’s glory: The Chronicles of Genzebar.

To explain a little, Genzebar is Genencor’s evil twin who lives below us. He’s always kneiving and trying to make Genencor’s life miserable. Fortunately, Genencor is so content, all of Genzebar’s plans fail.

But, will this one fail? Will Genzebar finally get Genencor back for ditching him in the parking lot of Genencor Int’l? ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT, DEAR READERS!

(an editor’s note: as much work as this class was, it was the most fun I’ve had in a class in a long time. I think that was probably due to the fact that the work is so different than the things that I normally do. Bonuses may include: future episodes of Meow, although in a shorter format.)

KITTENS!!

Who wants a kitten!? Fresh from my grandparents’ farm! They have the same Dad as Malcom and Aileen, so they’re likely to be adorable ragamuffins forever. I guess there’s five of ‘em.

Seriously, though, if you want a kitten, let me know, I can hook you up. Any takers in Iowa? Tim and Sam? How about in Minneapolis? Alli, Emma, and Katie?

inquiries into nerditude

So, I need your guys’ help. I’m writing the script for my movie right now, and I want the two main characters to get into an argument about something really nerdy. Now, I don’t mean Star Trek vs Star Wars, that’s too easy. I’m talkin’ the advantages of the Enterprise-E over its previous models, or, Obi-wan versus Qui-gon-jin: who was a better teacher, or, warriors versus barbarians: which is more useful when flanking enemies in D&D.

So, I’m asking: what’s the nerdiest argument you’ve ever had?

Details would be nice, since I’m going to be writing a whole scene around it. If you don’t want to talk about it in a comment, you can always email me.

self portrait?

So, one of my classes is an online Web Comics workshop, and one of our first assignments was to do a little self portrait with distinguishing characteristics about yourself. I drew this while in another class called Text and Image, in which as far as I can determine, we will discuss the relationship between text and image. I’m sure we’ll get all philosophical and junk, we already kind of did. Also, the teacher really likes to have discussions like that; I’ve taken a class from her before.

it's me

So, in advanced film this semester, we’re not allowed to edit our own films. I understand WHY it is, we need to learn how to work closely and creatively with another person. This kind of sucks for me, though, because I want to be an EDITOR. Hopefully, though, I’ll get to edit a couple other students’ films and it’ll give me some stuff that isn’t mine to put on my demo reel. Also, I can always make my own cut later. Speaking of my movie for this semester, I have no idea what it’s going to be, so if anyone has some really gooood ideas for an awesome film, please let me know!

Frug Dub

Impromptu lip dubs are pretty much the best lip dubs:
