Exciting Things!

My sister was looking at going to two different schools; Syracuse in New York, and Minneapolis (in Minnesota). She just got back from Syracuse but didn’t like the city or school very much, so that means that she’ll be going to Minneapolis! It’s a little selfish of me, but I’m really glad that she’s going to Minneapolis. Since I came here three years ago I’ve hardly gotten to see her at all. Now I can see her all the time!

In other news, Lindsey and I got a CD from a co-worker by the group “Adult.” pronounced “Adult Period”. Very cool if you like electronic music. Check it out the first song on their CD Anxiety Always:

That’s No Moon, That’s a Loop Station!

Cole and I went to Trygve’s (pronounced Trig-Vee) to record some sounds for a game we’re making. He has this awesome thing that records and loops any audio! It’s really easy to use and way cool. It sort of turned into a game where one person would start and then we rotated around adding on to the last person’s track until we got something interesting. Here are four of our tracks:

“Boi! I’m a Shambie now!”

Okay…so…I am Brock, new to Shambot… Also new to blogging…but hey…I love elipses…

I just need to test things out a bit to get myself aquainted.

This is me…

I will post some of my creative work on here on a later date… Right now my current project is a Horton Hears a Who video…Red, Yellow, Blue video with my own audio adaptation of Ted Giesel’s classic rhymes. All electronica aside from the vocal parts, which will be homosapien in nature…

For now, here is a small earsnack sample of what is in store… It doesn’t have the vocals yet but this is when the Wickersham Bros come to steal Horton’s clover/dust speck….

ROT ROT ROT ROT it’s a PLOT PLOT PLOT PLOT
We’re the wickersham brothers
We’re onto your plot
Pretending your talking to whos who are not
It’s a deep dire evil political plot
Pretending youre talking to whos who are not

Were the wickersham brothers
We’re vigilant spotters
Hot-shot spotters of rotters and plotters
And we’re going to save our sons and our daughters
FROM YOU!
You’re a dastardly, gastardly, schnastardly skunk
Trying to brainwash our brains with this gobblety gunk.

I Mak Mewsick Too!

Aren’t I special? This is my first song.

AND this post will act as a comment for Bill’s post (below). This banner idea I’ve been wanting to do… pretty much since I got Shambot working. If everyone could send in a respectable picture, not unlike Beck’s. Don’t worry about making it black and white. Actually, if you let the black and white doing to us (either Bill or myself) then they can all be in a similar fashion. This will make our site AWESOME-er. Thanks to Bill for the nice design idea and for sorta forcing me to actually do it finally.

Robopera

Well, here’s another one, this one also under 30 seconds. It’s called Robopera (pronounced RoBOPera, like opera, but with Robots). I ran into a few issues with keeping the beat, pressing the keys gets pretty difficult with the faster areas. Maybe someday I will make a good song in Garage Band.

A Formal Introduction to Steve Blank

Most of the time when people find out I DJ, they don’t know what that means. In lieu of this, I’ve worked hard a created what, at the moment, is the mix I am proudest of and a good way for people to find out what being a DJ does.

Microchip Malfunction

So, I’m going to try to post a mini-song I’m working on in Garage Band. I’m compiling a series of 30 second songs that I’ve made while in a state of boredom. This song is called, as you can read from above, Microchip Malfunction.

I think the title of my collection will be… WICKED FINGERS. Let me know what you think!
